CSU Physical Therapy Program:
The Cleveland State University (CSU) Physical Therapy Program received initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) in 1976. The Program has enjoyed full CAPTE accreditation since that time. In 2006 Self-Study, CAPTE re-accredited the program for a full 10-year cycle (accredited in full compliance through June 2017).

CSU PT Program Outcomes:
The Cleveland State University Physical Therapy Program is proud to present the professional program outcomes for the graduating classes beginning with the first DPT class in 2010. CSU DPT students graduate in December annually and the, outcomes below reflect the most recent data available. These outcomes are presented according to the requirements of the national PT Programs' accreditation body, the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

*Graduation Rate: Reflects the CAPTE requirement of those students who graduated within 150% of the expected time frame of the DPT Program, ie. Within 4.5 years of entry.
**Licensure Exam Ultimate Pass Rate: Reflects the final pass rate of graduates no matter the number of times the exam was taken.
For the 3 year cycle reported to CAPTE in December 2014 (2010, 2011, 2012), 89% of CSU PT students graduated within 150% of the normally expected time (CAPTE standard for these data). This strong graduation rate is consistent with the Program’s goal of recruitment and retention of high caliber students.
Physical Therapy Licensure Exam Ultimate Pass Rate:
For the 3 year cycle of DPT graduating classes reported to CAPTE in December 2015 (2012, 2013 & 2014), the licensure exam ultimate pass rate is 100%. This high pass rate signifies that CSU PT graduates are effectively prepared for entry level practice.
For the 3 year cycle of DPT graduating classes reported to CAPTE in December 2015 (2012, 2013 & 2014), CSU PT graduates employed as PTs within 6 months of passing the licensure examination is 100%, which meets the Program’s goal. This validates the Program’s efforts to produce the highest quality PT graduates.
