Partnership with Urban Community School

congratulations to the UCS/CSU Partnership for 4 years of successful collaboration!

This year marks the 4th year of the collaboration between the Urban Community School (UCS) and Cleveland State University’s School Psychology Program.  As part of this collaboration, students in multiple CSU graduate courses work in tandem to address the behavioral and socio-emotional needs of UCS students in grades 4-8.

Activities include screening, assessment, assessment scoring and interpretation, consultation with teachers and administrators, intervention design, therapeutic intervention implementation, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.  Program evaluation results indicate significant internalizing improvements among UCS student treatment groups.

Research results have been presented at the 2018 National Association of School Psychologists Conference in Chicago.  Research is ongoing and a manuscript is currently in progress for publication in the Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation’s (JEPC) special issue on community-university partnerships.
