Conor McLennan, professor and chair in the Department of Psychology, and three of his former students recently had an article published. Their paper, entitled “Masculine harps and feminine horns: Timbre and pitch level influence gender ratings of musical instruments” was published in the journal Psychology of Music. https://doi.org/10.1177/0305735617734629
The research reported in their paper represents portions of Lisa Stronsick’s undergraduate honors thesis. Ms. Stronsick, the first author on this paper, earned her B.A. in psychology (with a minor in business) (2017) and graduated with honors. Samantha Tuft and Sara Incera both earned their Ph.D. degrees in Adult Development and Aging from CSU’s Department of Psychology (2018 & 2016, respectively).
