Celebrating a Distinguished Psychology Alumna

Three-time alumna, Habeebah Rasheed Grimes, was named 2019 Distinguished Alumna for the College of Sciences and Health Professions at Cleveland State University.  Ms. Grimes earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1999, a Master’s degree in Psychology (Clinical specialization) in 2001, and a Psychology Specialist degree in School Psychology in 2002.

Currently, Ms. Grimes is Chief Executive Officer for the Positive Education Program (PEP), a nonprofit agency that provides services for children with severe mental health and behavioral challenges, as well as the families and professionals who support them.

According to Ms. Grimes, her time at CSU was instrumental in launching her career; she states that “my graduate studies and my School Psychology internship helped me tremendously, particularly early in my career, as the work required an expertise that could only be achieved through a period of intense study and supervised practice.”

The Department of Psychology is extremely proud of Ms. Grimes’ accomplishments.

Congratulations, Habeebah Rasheed Grimes!
